LECTURE SERIES SPEAKERS

The 2013 Animal Law Lecture Series is an opportunity to hear from leaders in animal law. Our speakers will share their knowledge on the current positioning of animal law and the potential for future developments.

JED GOODFELLOW

Jed Goodfellow is a PhD candidate within the Legal Governance Concentration of Research Excellence at Macquarie Law School. His research concerns the animal welfare regulatory framework within the Australian agricultural sector. Jed is also responsible for delivering Macquarie´s Animal Law course in semester two each year.

In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, Jed works as a policy officer for RSPCA Australia with a focus on legislative and regulatory issues affecting animal welfare. Jed has previously practised as a prosecutor for RSPCA South Australia and a solicitor for commercial law firm Clayton Utz. He also served as an animal cruelty inspector for RSPCA Queensland during his undergraduate studies.

Jed will present at the University of Sydney on Tuesday 23 April 2013 and Arnold Bloch Leibler on Tuesday 7 May 2013 discussing the problematic issues that arise from conflicts of interest in animal law enforcement.
