To our Voiceless Community,
With our cats on our laps and our dogs by our side, we write to you today with a message of hope for the year ahead at Voiceless.
As the home of Animal Law and Animal Protection Education, the COVID-19 pandemic continues to present potential barriers to our vital work. With the looming closure of schools – or their shift to online learning – and the cancellation of many key events for 2020, our incredible team is rapidly adapting.
Alleviating the suffering of animals remains our primary concern. Here are our commitments to them as well as you, our supporters.
We are committed to equipping the next generation of changemakers with the tools they need to think critically about animal protection
Over the next few months, our professional education team will research and develop an exciting suite of Animal Protection Education (APE) resources on the topic of live animal export. They will continue to develop strategic partnerships with international animal protection groups to increase the scope and reach of our APE program and our resources will remain online to support educators and isolated parents alike.
We are committed to growing the field of animal law and improving legal protections for animals across the world
Our Animal Law Education (ALE) resources will continue to be taught in virtual classrooms as universities move online. Meanwhile, we’re working with Bond University and the Center for Animal Law Studies to create resources exploring the legal protections for farmed animals across the US and Australia. Come October, we will work with these partners to once again co-host the annual Animal Law Education Workshop, Australia’s only professional development forum for animal law education.
We are committed to supporting the animal protection community
We’re excited to see the return of the Voiceless Animal Protection Heroes in mid-2020, an initiative created to support and promote Australia’s farmed animal sanctuaries and wildlife carers. Our finger will remain firmly on the pulse of animal protection issues with our social media channels and the Voiceless Blog keeping you informed and up to date like you’ve always relied on us to do.
Voiceless remains committed to our vision of a world in which animals are treated with respect and compassion
We are heartened to know that you share that commitment and we can’t thank you enough for your ongoing support during this time. Please stay safe, stay indoors and stay connected via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter !
The Voiceless Team x
P.S. If you’re in a position to – and we understand that many are not – please consider making a small donation to help us continue to educate for the animals. It would mean the world to us.
