The 2012 Animal Law Lecture Series was an opportunity to hear from leaders in animal and environmental law. Our speakers shared their expertise on the commercial hunting of kangaroos and seals.



Graeme is Chair of the Barristers Animal Welfare Panel, a national body of over 120 Australian Barristers.

He has been a member of the Victorian Bar for over 25 years, specialising in commercial law. He was part of the small team of counsel for Laurie Levy in the milestone ‘free speech’ case of Levy v State of Victoria [1997] HCA 31.

Graeme’s experience in animal law is extensive. He was the President of Animals Australia from 1983 to 1994 and the inaugural lecturer in Animal Law as an undergraduate course at Melbourne University Law School. He is also the author of Animal Law: Principles and Frontiers.
